In Sacramento, a call is being made to individuals who may have unclaimed money in the form of uncashed checks from the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD).

These checks, dating back to September 30, 2020, or earlier, could belong to customers or their family members.

SMUD encourages those who find their names on the list to step forward and claim their funds before the deadline on December 18, 2023.

To stake a claim, one can contact SMUD directly by phone or mail, providing necessary personal details.

Unclaimed checks after this date will revert to SMUD as per California law. For any inquiries, SMUD has made a contact line available.
